Beneath the Surface
The Fight for Corals
A story of discovery and hope
Red Sea Global (RSG), in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, presents the documentary Beneath the Surface: The Fight for Corals.
The 45-minute film follows Saudi free diver Salma Shaker on a journey of discovery and hope, as we learn about the unique resilience of Red Sea corals and their potential contribution to global coral health.
Sneak Peek of the Documentary
Our Coral Commitment
RSG is raising awareness about the vital contribution of coral reefs in sustaining the planet's ecosystem.
Our commitment to coral protection and regeneration encompasses our Coral Gardening Pilot Project, the signing of a letter of intent with The Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform (CORDAP), and the brand reveal of Corallium, our marine life institute, announced at COP28 in December 2023.
"At Red Sea Global, we are inspired by nature and led by science. Our destinations are home to some of the most stunning corals in the world. They are also among the most resilient, but even Red Sea coral is not invincible.
In 'Beneath the Surface: The Fight for Corals,' we spotlight the beauty and vulnerability of these underwater wonders and the importance of global collaboration in preserving our oceans."
Meet our Contributors
We meet scientists and researchers from RSG, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), and beyond. These experts each work in coral regeneration and provide a comprehensive perspective on the current state of reefs globally, as well as ongoing conservation efforts.
