Rich Past to a
Better Future

Learn about the findings of two huge surveys we conducted to explore The Red Sea area's history

Our colleagues Yasser Al Mutairi, an Environmental Expert, and Marwan Al Juhani, Local Adventure & Culture Expert, discuss the findings of two huge surveys conducted to explore The Red Sea area’s history.

The surveys focused on archaeology, geology, paleontology, and the environment and wildlife. They discovered dig sites dating back over 50 million years and the remains of 80-million-year-old marine reptiles.

They also found countless species of fish and other marine life, including the endangered Indian Ocean Humpback Dolphin. In addition, over 300 coral reef sites were explored, rare birds spotted, turtle nesting sites located, and much more.

The people of Saudi Arabia are inspired by the belief that understanding the past is essential to facing the future with confidence. This belief drives their efforts to protect and preserve The Red Sea's unique biodiversity and rich historical value. The knowledge gained from the surveys informs their blueprint for achieving this goal.

Marwan explains that The Red Sea is a big open-air museum, and his family has lived around the area for generations. They have a big responsibility to preserve and enhance it for future generations.

The area is a huge part of their culture and has inspired poets, writers, and artists throughout history. It is sure to inspire visitors from around the world for many years to come.

Thanks to the findings of the surveys, Red Sea Global can deliver a truly unique and sustainable tourism experience that is unlike any other.
